On Sunday the 26th of May Caernarfonshire riding club committee members Angie Williams and Linda Thomas ran a phenomenally successful Trec training session. Trec helps to develop the relationship between horse and rider and incorporates obstacles and task they would encounter in the countryside out hacking. Caernarfonshire riding club are one of the few clubs in the area that provide these sessions.
This was a first Trec session for Venue Swn Y Mor and the first time the club used its newly purchased equipment and bridge made by committee member Lance Hesketh. The session was well attended with some twenty horses with some choosing to ride and others doing the session in hand. New skills where learned, confidence of both horse and rider was grown and plenty of cake was eaten along the way as well. Big thankyou to all involved especially Iona Watkin Jones for being so accommodating at Swn Y Mor, what an outstanding venue and Angie and Linda for providing such good instruction and all the organisation prior to and on the day. Let us Keep an eye out for the next session where I am sure new task and obstacles will be introduced to keep you all on your toes.
